I’ve been following Ten24 for a while now and finally took the plunge and purchased a life scan during a promotion they ran before Christmas.
I opted for their Personal Single User Licence for the Colour Female 04 Pose 01. The licence allows me to use the scan for personal projects, 3D printing, for none commercial projects and in my portfolio.
The scan was made using photogrammetry 3D scanning technology and an amazing 170 individual DSLR cameras in a purpose build studio. I’m absolutely fascinated by this technology and was keen to see how the scan would print on a hobbies 3D printer.
Needless to say I’m very impressed with my initial results and looking forward to doing a lot more work with this scan. There are so many applications for this kind of clean accurate data. Form an artist’s perspective, wish I had access to this kind of tech 25 years ago when I did my Fine Art degree.
